Gallagher, Burke bicker over health hotline

By Thumper 30 January 2008 32

From what I can gather from this ABC article, Katy Gallagher and Jacqui Burke don’t quite see eye to eye.

Apparently Ms Burke was to set up a health hotline and then report back to Ms Gallagher with complaints she had recieved.

This sounds like a good idea to me.

However, it would appear that Ms Gallagher has since stated that she does not believe that Ms Burke will tell her the truth.

As such, Ms Burke now refuses to pass on the information.

Pedantic uppity little princesses.

What’s Your opinion?

He might want to be called Smith to sound more populist, but he still answers the phome Smeyeth and his wife set me straight when I asked what she preferred when I had a legitimate reason to call them at home.

I agree with you there Ingeegoodbee how often do we see it happen.

“Sadly, most of the people in our present Assembly – Pratt, Burke, Smyth, Hargreaves, Foskey, MacDonald, Gallagher, Gentleman – couldn’t pick up a job paying $108,000 outside the Assembly.”

Crikey, sadly, I suspect that they could – in the private sector at least.

a few votes from people gullible enough to believe her that’d describe most of the electorate, then, streetgirl!

ross solly got stuck into both yesterday morning – hilarious stuff. both came across as uppity princesses not willing to give an inch. i thought politicians were elected to represent the views of their constituency. and i thought jackie burke was provided information by punters who believed their comments would get to the minister.

back to their corners, no biscuit.

Oh, in my opion the best quote about politicians come from none other than Billy Connelly:”People who want to become politicians… shouldn’t be allowed to”.

Crikey – I agree with you that these folk can’t cut it in th real world. I’ve known Smythe for years (yes way back when his name was pronounced Sm-eye-th, not Smith as he now like to be called as he thinks it makes him ‘one of the people’). He was only a fairly Junior Public Servant. But that seems to be the pattern of most all of our MLA’s.

Again, this is another example of why Stanhope must piss himself laughing at the people of the ACT.

His Ministers might be as useless as ashtrays on motorbikes, but time and time again the Liberal opposition just doesn’t score any useful points against them!

God help us all!

Yep, heard the dynamic duo on 666 this morning. I normally don’t have much time for Katy, but Jacqui made Katy look good by putting herself across as barking mad at best. Hope the big Z shuffles her downwards soon.

Gungahlin Al this is so typical of Jacqui the burke. Mike Welsh, 2CC refuses to have her on his program following a similar stunt she pulled on him. I hope the Liberals drop her – or if not, the ACT voters kick her out.

Back on the topic, did anyone have the pleasure of listening to the Jacqui and katy show on 666 this morning?

I think Ross Solly was getting pretty cheesed orf with Jacqui about her refusal to pass on details of the concerns lodged with her to the government.

Understandable – what is the point of those people raising issues if all that would result is a CT headline?

People raise issues with me via the GCC, and they can count on them being referred to the relevant person/minister/department, with or without the personal details as per the complainant’s wishes. (Copped a blast or two from the good Minister Hargreaves for my trouble, but that goes with the territory. Territory – gedit?) Figure they do actually want something done about it if at all possible after all…

Ingee, that’s gonna go WAAAYYYY over her head.
