Would anyone have any recommendations for someone to repair the electric motor that opens a garage door?

Ours just does not like to work on these cold mornings.

Act Doorland came out to fix our garage door, Joel was on time and knew what he was doing, definately would recommend this company ( 62601550)

Capital Doorworks in Hume gets my vote too, they replaced our old motor with a new belt driven one. It’s insanely quiet now, which is excellent since the other half started shift work.
Ours was also doing the same thing stopping about a quarter of the way up in the colder weather.

Capital Doorworks. Installed new garage door for us recently (without motor) but were ontime, competitive, friendly and tidy.

Hi All,

Hopefully somebody can help out. I had a rollerdoor man come to fit automatic opener on existing door however he said the door was too old and heavy to open for any motor. he then said I’d have to put new uprights/doors yadda yadda and I said we’ll give me a quote which he replied yep… never heard of again.
Any ideas on quality roller door men and can I lighten up the door to fit a motor? Its a wider than usaul door so maybe replacing is theonly answer

Mines doing the same, Damn the cold weather…. Depending on how mechanically minded you (or some friend) are, looks like you can purchase a brand new unit for around $300.00 on Ebay. Or if you take it apart you could prabably find just the electric motor (inside the casing) and just replace that.

A new motor fitted will cost you around $600. Beware the repairers who say that you can no longer get parts for your old motor and therefore you need a new one… (check with the manufacturer/distributor first if you have an old motor). Labour rates are around $90 per hour for repairs – so a new motor may work out to be economical if there are real problems.

I have just had my double garage door and motor repaired.

Could we get a price on that Mr&Mrs Wombats?

Mine are probably on its last leg and would like to budget for it

ACT Doorland at Hume (62601550) did a good job at a reasonable price.
