TAMS are warning that there’s a garbage strike on:
The ACT Government has been advised that due to industrial action by staff from Cleanaway today’s household recycling and garbage collections may not be collected.
There is no impact on commercial recycling and garbage collection.
The potentially impacted suburbs are:

Barton, Beard, Deakin, Duntroon, Forrest, Garran, Griffith, Harman, Hughes, Isaacs, Kingston, Narrabundah, Oaks Estate, O’Malley, Phillip, Pialligo, Red Hill, Swinger Hill and YarralumlaGarbage
Acton, Ainslie, Braddon, Campbell, City, Dickson, Downer, Hackett, Lyneham, O’Connor, Reid, Turner and Watson.Residents are advised to leave their bins out until collected. Cleanaway is seeking urgent resolution of the issue so that collections can resume.
The ACT Government recently awarded the household recycling and garbage collection contract to SITA Australia. The contract commences on 29 October 2013.
UPDATE: This just in from TAMS:
Following a Fair Work Commission hearing this afternoon it is expected that household recycling and garbage collections will resume from tomorrow morning (Saturday 24 August 2013). Residents living in suburbs where the collection was due today are advised to leave their bins out until collected. It is possible that work to catch up on the collections will need to continue through until Monday.
