Gas Leak in Manuka

The following in from the ESA:

1:55pm Wednesday 28 July 2010 – Small gas leak at Manuka ACT Fire Brigade on scene of a small gas leak outside Manuka Plaza shopping centre, Franklin Street and Flinders Way, Griffith.

A 50mm gas line has been ruptured during construction work.
Two ACT Fire Brigade pumpers on scene and the specialist Hazmat unit.

Gas line still has a minor leak and ACTEW/AGL crews on scene to isolate the leak.

Ha! There was a gas leak in the city yesterday but not the sort you’d report to ACTEWAGL. Several workstations around a particular exotic food eater suddenly found they all wanted a coffee at the same time!
