A new venture by Vicki Collins, Jorian Gardner and Joe Woodward

Only 20 minutes from Queanbeyan or 40 minutes from the CBD, Genghis Khan’s Loungeroom offers a little escape, every Saturday and Sunday. Collectables, curios, antiques and books PLUS real coffee, leaf tea and herbals served the old-fashioned way in collectable china – in front of the fire or on the porch in the sun. Come for a Sunday drive and stay as long as you like. Also original artwork by Vicki Collins, and the new home of renowned Canberra theatre company Shadowhouse Pits, under Artistic Director Joe Woodward. (Watch this space for upcoming theatre projects and events!)

NOW OPEN. Saturdays and Sundays, 10am to 5pm.Getting there is easy: Take the Kings Highway out of Queanbeyan towards Bungendore. Just over the first hill there’s a right-hand turn to Captains

This is a most excellent venture. Congrats to Vicki, Jorian and Joe. Well worth the trip to Captain’s Flat for excellent coffeee, conversaton, good books and intriguing bits and pieces. The Loungeroom is just opposite the pub — an added advantage. Well worth the trip on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

PS: Don’t forget to ask Jorian about the “special items” out the back of the shop.

And with a complimentary dose of heavy metals in every cup of tea/coffee!

I give this business 3 months – tops. 😉

20 mins from Queanbeyan? I did it in 20 mins once in the V8 and drew plenty of negative comment..
