And I should care because?

Because you are a kind and compassionate person who appreciates the importance of a well functioning family and now you know that George’s decision to retire from international rugby means he can look forward to spending more time with his wife and their three children under the age of five you feel so much better.

You shouldn’t. I mean if you did your other brain cell would bear a terrible load

Thanks for the contribution. I might go into every post that doesn’t interest me and type the same response.

What a shame. Such a good man, one time captain of the national team. Yes, such a shame that this ‘legend’ has retired. Perhaps I was daydreaming when I read those newspaper reports about the assault on a teenager in Manuka. Yep, such a fine role model, a real legend.

The only reason Waugh was ever selected over Smith was politics.
Had Smith been a Waratah there’d be suburbs named after him.
Like Gregan before him, the NSW press bag him purely because of who he plays for.
It wasn’t until I went to Christchurch last year to watch the Brumbies v Crusaders that I fully realised how highly respected George Smith is. The Kiwi’s are in awe of him.
He has almost “McCaw” like status…… Almost.
Pocock is showing great ability, which is very exciting for Australian Rugby, but whether he can last like George will be the real test.
How anyone can play 100+ tests putting their body through such punishment is a mystery to me. Smith is a freak.

The only reason Phil Waugh is still hanging around is that he wants to pull a Bradbury and be the last man standing if Pocock gets injured.
George Smith has had amazing resilience which has seen him miss very few games due to injury, which has meant Phil Waugh has stayed on the sidelines where he belongs.

Why do all the best players leave the Wallabies?

I used to love them, now they are just a bunch of no hopers. ARU mismanagement is unbelievable.

Sad to see him go. He was one of the greats.

He hasn’t retired. He just wants to play overseas. That’s quite a big difference.

May as well be the same thing.

Damn. There’s a huge hole in our 2011 World Cup team.
How do you replace such a legend?

Ahh, David Pocock perhaps? One of my misguided & delsional (Warratah supporting) colleagues asserted today that Phil Waugh would be the guy.

Damn. There’s a huge hole in our 2011 World Cup team.
How do you replace such a legend?
