Get out on the heritage whatsit

Andrew Barr has announced the launch of some heritage trail thingies and told us all we should go do one as they’re good for us.

The first one starts from the Mt Ainslie lookout.

“I encourage everyone to take a tour on one of the new Canberra Tracks. It is a perfect introduction to our richly diverse cultural heritage,” Mr Barr said. Track One is titled Ngunnawal Country and describes the traditional landuse patterns of the Ngunnawal people, set against the context of a living culture cared for today by the local Aboriginal community

Enthralling I’m sure. But how long is it going to take me to complete the track (pop up at 7pm should I)? What level of fitness is required? What clothing is recommended?

Starting this week we’re also celebrating “Heritage Canberra”: “an exciting three days of events, commencing on 3 November, to promote our heritage.”

No mention of time, place, or cost for any of these doubtless exciting events.
