This Friday night (11-NOV-05) a trivia night is being held to fundraise for three summer camps run by St Vincent de Paul.
The camps are run by a group of volunteers, mainly young adults, who say they have “no religious or political agenda ” but rather aim to “provide positive role models and have plenty of safe, supervised fun”. The cost of the camps — accommodation, food, travel, equipment, specialised staff and so on — is subsidised by St Vincent de Paul but a supplement of $200 per child is needed (and they’re hoping to take 100 kids in total this year).
The trivia night will be held at the Italo-Australian Club in Forrest at 7pm. Cost is $30 per head with tables of 10. To book tickets call 6282 2722
A poster with more information about the night is here.
The organisers of the night are also looking for donations of foodstuffs (both fresh & packaged), decorations, restaurant vouchers, alcohol, toiletries, movie vouchers and theatre tickets. These items will be served at supper or given as prizes, raffled, or sold in silent auctions throughout the night.
UPDATED: Just a reminder, this in on tonight and tickets will be available at the door. The new bright star of the internet, Samuel Gordon-Stewart will reportedly be in attendance.
