ACT Policing yesterday (Thursday, July 14) arrested a 30-year-old Oaks Estate man on charges of forgery and using a false document contrary to Sections 346 and 347 of the Criminal Code 2002.

Police will allege the man had been producing fraudulent medical prescriptions and presenting them to pharmacies.

A search warrant had been executed on the man’s residence on Wednesday (July 13) in which a number of items, including computer equipment, were seized in evidence.

After being contacted and offered the opportunity to surrender himself to police, he refused to do so. Following further enquiries, police last night (Thursday, July 14) attended an address in Page where the man was arrested and then conveyed to the ACT Watch House.

He was released on conditional bail to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on July 22.
