Territory and Municipal Services are giving notice that as of Monday you won’t be able to walk up to Gibraltar Falls as they upgrade the path for two weeks.

“This safety upgrade to the walking track within the Gibraltar Falls recreation area will ensure visitors are able to enjoy the beauty of the falls in a safe way.”

Mr Alegria said that to facilitate the work the Gibraltar Falls recreation area, including access to the falls, will be closed from Monday 2 July 2012 to Friday 13 July 2012.

There will be no access to Gibraltar Falls during the period of works from either Gibraltar Falls recreation area or from Woods Reserve downstream.

Gibraltor falls are out near Corin Forrest

But I thought the Falls had been completely off-limits since the early 1990s when the land around them became private property and access to the public was denied. Have the Falls been opened up again?

ginninderra != gibraltar.
