Giving the koala a makeover: reviewing the Constable Kenny program

ACT Policing has announced that they’re going to be redeveloping the Constable Kenny Koala website (don’t think anyone will argue with that) and “refreshing the brand”. Towards this goal, they’ve put out a survey for parents and teachers of primary/pre-school students.

I have fond memories of Constable Kenny Koala terrorising my class back in primary school, so I’m interested to see where this might go. Perhaps a rework of the catchphrase “What do we want? No trouble!” might be appropriate. Any ideas?

The last time the cops “refreshed the brand” they changed Kenny from being a cute fluffy white puppet into being a big ugly grey one. If it ain’t broke …

Seems a change of ‘management’ about 6-7 years ago really buggered the ‘Kenny’ image. Some new person decided he knew better than anyone how Kenny should be presented, and it has been a downhill slide since then.

Kenny is a good product, and should not be the plaything of puffed up pub servs.

Back to your roots, young Kenny! 🙂

Perhaps if police use this form of Kenny, we might have affect on our kids attitudes to commiting crimes….

What do we want? No Taser!

(Screams as Kenny takes out the naughty kiddies who weren’t wearing helmets.)
