As Skate in the City cleans up Jono1 has sent in this shot of the remnants of the once proud ice rink refusing to melt quickly.

Strange… I though all the water used was going to be recycled. Unless they have an industrial size Sham-wow in that truck, wonder where all that melt water is ending up?

The brine solution in the pipes that froze the pure water which became the ice was to be taken by truck to Sydney to a licensed industrial waste facility. It can’t be recycled. Will probably end up in the ocean with other salty water. No problem here.
The actual “ice” will melt and go down the storm water drains. No problem here either.
No water ever leaves this planet unless an astronaut occassionally has a wee wee outside the space station.

My recollection is that the promises were around using renewable electricity.

How can you not recycle water? It either ends up in creeks or rivers. It also ends up in oceans and even evaporates. So in essence it all recycled.

Stormwater runs stright to the lake, so effectively it is being recycled.
