Artshub is carrying the happy news that Glassworks housed at the Powerhouse on Kingston foreshore is set to open on Canberra Day.

“The establishment of the Canberra Glassworks is a landmark project for the ACT Government and will have local, national and international significance,” said Canberra Glassworks Chair and ActewAGL CEO, John Mackay.

“The project builds on the success of glass artists from the Canberra Region, and will be the only centre of its kind in Australia.”

Choice. A tour of any place doing glass blowing is generally, hot and interesting. However, may I suggest that thongs aren’t the right footwear. My scar still itches everytime i go into the glass areas of department stores. Not too mention that supporting local artists generally is worth a billion pints of karma.
