Couldn’t agree more, even better is the cross-slope as you exit Parkes way going towards Belco (just before you go under the flyover), it is screaming out for a car or bike to hit it at speed so it can funnel, in one smooth motion, the unfortunate driver/rider directly into the pole, tree, mound then bike underpass that exist no more than 3 metres from the edge.

The PDF also doesn’t show the terrible condition of the road after exiting the Parkway towards the city, and heading down onto Parkes Way. The road’s been re-laid half way down…then turns into a heavy vehicle damaged, rough mess of a road.

It’s almost as though the design brief included provisions for, upon completion, Glenloch to display its entire sorry history via the various road surfaces we’ll end up with.

Good find screaming banshee. But it will be as no surprise to just about anyone who has been following the general GDE and roadsigns sagas that the first two overhead signs are nothing like that at all! The ‘where you want to go’ info is written next to the direction arrows NOT above them. Why did they not just follow the plan especially as they have now had two attempts to get it right?

I had another look today and the 2nd overhead sign where the airplane symbol is pointing straight ahead (instead of angled left) is also positioned adjacent to the left most straight ahead arrow. A quick glance at this sign and you could easily be heading straight ahead to Gungahlin instead of exiting left to the airport.

Here’s an idea, how about putting a decent amount of workers on DURING THE DAY! This lot couldn’t organise a root in a brothel.

If there were no other indication I suppose the way the plane is pointing would indicate which direction you could go but I’m pretty certain most signage, these ones included, have the ‘where you want to go’ information above the ‘how to get there’ information. The orientation of the plane should be consistent.

Yes the new overhead signs are up. However I noticed travelling from Tuggeranong Parkway to the city the first overhead sign has the blue airport symbol pointing to the left (ie exit is to the left). On the next overhead sign the plane is pointing straight up and of course if you continue straight you end up on Caswell Dve. If you are going to have one angled left to signify an exit is needed to reach the airport why not do both?

They forgot to mention “…. and to replace the road signs at Glenloch Interchange to ones that you can actually read because we forgot to define the font size in the tender” … but that’s a given.
