Go Caps!

The Canberra Times has a report on the Canberra Capitals poor end to the seasons (three losses in a row).

Fortunately they were so dominant at the start of the season they’re still hosting a final this Saturday at the AIS Arena against the Adelaide Creepy Murderers Lightning and if they win that they’ll be off to tackle Sydney.

So how do the loyal ABC 2 watchers rate their chances?

I second that. Watching the Caps play is absolutely fantastic. Definitely worth watching a game or two. While the Caps are a great team, the competition are also very strong, making for some tough games.

I’ve taken my girls to see the Caps play at every Tuggeranong game this season and I’d have to say we have a team to be bloody proud of here. If you haven’t been to a Caps game treat yourself it’s a good night out. They have some stand out players with personality and a good ‘never say die’ attitude which reflects well on them. We’ll be at every Tuggers game next season for sure.

the capitals have played really bloody well this season considering all expectations they would be rubbish without lauren jackson. AND they lost jenny whittle to retirement as well at the end of last season.

me, i had faith they would perform ok despite these key player losses. and they have. they only JUST missed out on the minor premiership by losing the last weekend doubleheader of the home and away season. but those 2 losses were awful losses. ESPECIALLY the loss to sydney on australia day was the worst game i have seen the caps play all season – and the only home game they lost in the whole season too. no passion, no energy, they just got smacked down and about by those sydney flames beyotches for the whole game.

the major semifinal last friday night against sydney was also somewhat of a disappointment where they lost to sydney again – but they fought the good fight that time round (in the lead for over half the game) even though yes they ended up losing.

i think the caps will beat adelaide this weekend. but whether they will beat (&*(!@&!@^& sydney in sydney the following weekend….i don’t know, too close to call. i will be there though cheering them on – and bloody grateful that it’s not a 10 hour drive as it was to dandenong for the grand final LAST YEAR!
