Go Gecko has been bought out by Independent, who else has low capped fees?

Just trying to find someone to sell my home in Chisholm, its for a deceased estate and I cant sell it myself as my rellos are jerks.

I had a couple of real estate agents have a look and they said there commission alone would be $12,000 + on a home valued at $360,000. A house valued at $360,000 will sell within a month so there is no way I want to give them $12,000 for nothing.

I rang Go Gecko and they said they have been bought out Independant. IE: The big guy bought all the little guys 🙁

I have sold houses myself before and it cost me no more than $2000 to do all the advertising. Any recommendations on CHEAP real estate agents would be appreciated.

Anthony Mewton from YOU Real Estate in Kippax sold my house in Ngunnawal a while back and I know they only charge $5,990.00 as sales commission. He was straight forward and great to deal with. I happily recomend him to anyone….

I am a real estate agent and I am re-entering the industry after a break and to try and get my name back out there I am offering flat $5000 inc GST commissions. I dont want to sound shamless and self promoting but I would be happy to help should you not already have an agent of course 🙂

Details of how to contact you?

Your going to be a RE agent and you dont want to sound shameless and self promoting? Hope you have a back up plan.

Your probably right, perhaps I should just own the shamlessness? 😛

Your probably right, perhaps I should just own the shamlessness when asking for someones business in this kind of forum 😛

I bought my last house through Independant realestate Gungahlin. DON’T TOUCH THEM. They lie, lie and lie and then turn real nasty when things don’t go their way. This, of course, is just my humble opinion. 😉

I’ve been into several real estate agencys to discuss selling my house but everyone was too busy cheating on their wives/husbands to help.

I really want to believe this is true. All RE shops could have chicka-bow-wow piped muzak.

Cheapest in town:

Gold Creek – http://www.goldcreekqp.com.au/
Ethics Real Estate – http://www.ethicsrealestate.com.au/
P & P – http://pprealestate.com.au/

Or go with a standard agent and bargain them down to 2% plus marketing. You will be hard pressed to get them down to less than 2%.

I personally know Andrew Paton from Ethics Real Estate and he’s a good guy so he’s my bet.

Was it actually bought out or did the agency just change its brand alliance? which a lot of agencies do. I wouldn’t be surprised given that the gold creek property also used to be go gecko.. My dealing with them, admittedly as a buyer, was that they’re were terrible and made claims which were stretching the truth at the least and close to breaking some laws for deceptive conduct. Maybe not such a bad thing that they disappeared..

There’s a couple (husband and wife) who work out of an agency in Dickson beginning with L and ending in n who gave me a very competitive quote. You could do worse than contact them. I assume they do southside properties as well.

Sounds like you want http://www.therealestateshop.com.au

From their website:
3. Pay us what you believe is fair.

We are so confident that you will be delighted with our service that we give you the ultimate guarantee.

If you are not happy, you have the authority to reduce our fee to whatever you believe is fair. This is an undertaking provided to you as a written part of our listing agreement and signed by us.

Incidentally, I also heard last week that Independent bought out Peter Blackshaws as well.

Had two real estate agents look at the home. One said $330 the other $360. All homes shows a similar one in the street for $395.

Thanks for the advice

Gold creek quality property or something like do fixed priced commission. They are just up the road from anz bank in gungahlin. Not sure if they cover south side, but won’t hurt asking

Like everything with real estate, commissions are negotiable, negotiate with the agents to get a better deal, including one that a friend of mine negotiated which meant if the agent was to sell the place with in a certain time frame it would be one rate and if it took longer than the time frame it would reduce down.

That said I’ve heard of worse commission rates than 3.3%.

Also who gave you the valuation and more importantly when was it done?
