The saga of Godwin Grech is come to an end.

Despite all the accusations against Godwin Grech, the DPP have decided that they will not proceed with charges. The short story is that they don’t quite have enough evidence to be 100% certain of securing a conviction (and he’s not a suspected terrorist, so the burden of proof is higher), and they seem to think he has suffered enough.

For the latecomers, the accusations against have been well and truly discussed on RA already: here, here and here.

After everything that’s been said and done, Mr Godwin Grech deserves an acknowledgement that the end of this chapter of his life has indeed arrived.

It still amazes me that anyone would go to these kind of lengths for the liberal party – or any party really.

status anxiety, relevance deprivation, and basic loneliness can be incredible motivators.

Probably fair to say poor old Godwin has well and truly ruined his career and probably won’t work again. Although, given his ideological leanings he will probably be picked up as a columnist for the Australian.

Also, he makes things up, which is a research skill highly valued by The Australian.

Remember their motto: “The Australian is definitive, reality is frequently inaccurate”.

Mmmm, a toadying sycophantic liberal stooge with questionable taste in cherubs and clocks……sounds like he’s a moral for an adviser’s job.

Fair crack of the sauce bottle… a toadying sycophantic liberal stooge who set out to maliciously and feloniously spread pure unadulterated lies may get an acknowledgement but that is all, he remains a disgrace to his position of trust and will it seems always be so.

yebbut, at least he didn’t send a forlorn stalking message to all staff on his public service e-mail account. give the man some credit…

Or if the Oz doesn’t want him, then given his taste in design I am sure he has a secure future with any of the fine magazines for collectors of clocks and cherubs.
