Hi All,

Since nobody has posted any information about Canberra golf tutors I thought it would be good to start a post.

I am just starting golf and wanted to see everybody’s opinion on who in there experience has been a good golf coach in cbr or Qbn?

I realise there hasn’t been any additions to this thread recently but I wanted to take the opportunity to convey my strong endorsement for Jason Pavese at Federal for those seeking a golf coach. I was a low marker who had never had any lessons before swallowing my pride and deciding to seek some expert advice. I realised that I was no longer improving but was sceptical of those professionals who happily take your money and only provide you with quick fixes like a grip change or ‘swing slower’ (whatever this means). It was clear with Jason that he was genuine and honest regarding the process of change that suited my swing and abilities. He is ideal for players of all capability – those new to the game or a seasoned veteran who has read all the books!
Jason is clearly passionate about coaching and I consider his interactive approach to each lesson has a far greater impact than a coach who stands behind you and relays various golf cliches and motherhood statements.
Since seeing Jason, I’m hitting the ball consistently better and enjoying the game more than ever. Whether you’re starting to learn a swing or needing to adjust your existing one, remember it is a process that can’t be fixed in a single lesson. In understanding this reality, Jason is my ideal choice for a coach who is most willing and able to improve your game.

Very impressed with Jason. He was very motivated and keen to get me swinging better. He sends a video after of the tips that he taught in the lesson for you to practice. Very in depth.

I am going to give Jason a try today. He said that he gives a video and notes so hopefully he will be good.. Will let you know after..

I did 4 lessons when first starting out with a Pro at the Lakes. Was well worth it.

been very happy with Jason Pavese when he was teaching out of drummond golf before and after shop hours, he has recently moved out to federal. He helped drop my handicap from 24 to 13.

as pptvb says, golf pros – try the nearest one to where you live. if you establish a good rapport, keep going. look for someone who is honest in appraising what you need and on what you need to focus. make sure they separate lessons and practice from a real game – leave the lessons on the practice fairway when you play and enjoy it, but having spent some time embedding the lessons on the practice fairway / range, your golf should improve by and by.

good luck! fore!

Golf Pro.
Any golf club.
The driving range at Narrabundah is good for beginners, they have a few teaching Pros.

Personally, I use & highly recommend Craig Smith at Royal.
