37 year old Canberra referee Ben Williams flies out to Brazil tomorrow and goes straight into a referee camp in preparation for the game’s showpiece event.

Williams was selected as one of 25 referees from around the globe to officiate at the World Cup in Brazil which starts 12 June.

Williams will most likely only find out 2 days before each game as to who he will be officiating.

The World Cup kicks of on 12 June with host’s Brazil taking on Croatia. Australia’s first match is against Chile on 13 June.

We wish Ben the best of luck on the world stage. Do Canberra proud.
