A 30-year-old Gordon woman was arrested this morning after she allegedly assaulted a police officer in Civic.
The officer sustained minor facial injuries as a result of the assault.
Around 3.50am this morning, members of ACT Policing’s Regional Targeting Team intervened in a verbal argument outside Mooseheads in Civic, between the woman and security from the licenced premise.
When police approached the woman she was requested to stop arguing with the security staff. She then confronted police in an aggressive manner, punching an officer in the face after she refused to comply with the officers’ direction.
The woman was taken into custody and conveyed to the ACT Watch House. She has been charged with common assault and will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
