Do you think your house is the coldest in Canberra – poor insulation, big draughty gaps and single glazed windows that run with water each morning?
Don’t despair because you can fix it – and it won’t cost the earth. Book a free seat at the Coldest House in Canberra Retrofitting Workshop this Wednesday evening and learn in one hour how with $100 of materials and a weekend of your time you can seal up the draughts around your home and keep the cold out.
Local energy-efficiency company Alexander Watson and Canberra’s own sustainability group SEE-Change are collaborating from now until the end of June on the Coldest House in Canberra Competition. With $20,000 worth of energy efficiency retrofitting up for grabs, lots of people have already put their name in the draw – with some pretty entertaining entries.
But there can only be one winner, and you shouldn’t have to trust to luck to make your home more comfortable. There are plenty of simple and affordable tricks that will keep you warm right through the colder months.
Come along to the Coldest House in Canberra Retrofitting Workshop at the Yowani Country Club, Northbourne Avenue Lyneham, on the 19th of June at 6 pm. Lish Fejer – formerly of ABC Carbon Cops – is going to help out, and together with the experts from Alexander Watson and SEE-Change you’ll receive one hour of energy saving tips, that with one weekend and a small dollar investment can make your home more comfortable this winter.
As well as great home energy saving tips we’ll be offering a lucky door prize, discounted SEEChange membership and the even a bite to eat.
