Wow, the ACT Government’s really getting into this interweb thing!

First they brought us the newly-named Chief Minister’s Department site (most useful, for me anyway, for press releases).

Now the news has arrived that the government’s “website entry point”, www.act.gov.au has been revamped and will be relaunched on Thursday.

Very sensibly (I speak from experience here), they seem to have decided to go live before the launch, so if you click the above link you too can have a sneak preview.

Anyway, launch invite is below for anyone who has any desire to go. Pictures of the event may be supplied depending on how the day shapes up.

LAUNCH OF NEW-LOOK ACT GOVERNMENT WEBSITE

ACT Chief Minister Jon Stanhope will on Thursday officially launch the revamped ACT Government website entry point www.act.gov.au

The site is the primary entry point to information about ACT government services and programs. It has been designed to provide a single point for people to easily access information from the comfort of their home or work.

What: Launch of revamped ACT Govt website entry point
When: 10 am Thursday 6 October 2005
Where: Canberra Business Promotion Centre, Regatta Point

Define reasonably priced and define love….

You don’t think they’re reasonable demands?

Thumper do we live in the USA? I think not.

I’ll stick with my hard-boiled egg (and reasonably-priced love, I forgot that bit before).

what about truth, justice, freedom and a hard-boiled egg, Sam?

Onions are a sacred rounded object…and they make me sound silly when I demand them…

And if they insist on designing IE centric sites then they are fools…

I guess that’s why it looks like arse to me…I didn’t even bother to check it using IE

Yep looks like arse using Mozilla.

Ha ha, their lists bullets are all screwed up under firefox. Someone needs to do some more testing.

Ugh…I don’t like it.
So much blue! It looks user friendly though.

What about the queer community that the ‘Comrade’ is so ‘bent’ on legislating for?

Samuel, what is it about onions that make them particularly desirable to your community?

Looks quite user-friendly to me. But why no link to RiotACT, when they’ve got one to CT?
Also, couldn’t find where to go to register the camel.

I demand recognition as a community…I am the Samuel community and I want a free onion…hey, I’m also a minority group…I demand three onions and a monument…

Our Communities
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
Migrants
Older persons
People with disabilities
Women
Young people

Women are a community? But the Sunday brunchers at All Bar Nun aren’t?

here we go again.

how many times do we have to do this before they come up with something fast and iterative that can evolve rather than revolve?

lets hope it’s mobile friendly.
