Spectacular curved walls of glass take in uninterrupted views of Well Station Reserve which wraps around this luxury family home in Harrison.

Custom-designed to make the most of its unique location, 23 Turtle Rock Street in Harrison is impressive from the first glance. Selling agent Jess Smith from Stone Real Estate Gungahlin says it’s a stand-out property.

“I think it’s one of the best-built homes in Harrison,” she said.

“Before you even walk in, you’re captivated by the beautiful architecture and how well the home is positioned on the block.

“It was designed by the current owners specifically to take advantage of the bush views that wrap around the front of the house.”

Jess says it’s breathtaking as soon as you walk through the front door.

“It’s an incredible home inside and out,” she said.

“Once you get inside, you can see the attention to detail in the inclusions, the construction and how the home has been designed to bring the natural light inside.

“Huge picture windows bring the outside in, and you can see views of the reserve from almost every room.”

Designed over three levels with a family in mind, the home boasts four large bedrooms, including a luxurious master suite, an office, and a vast basement.

It features sprawling formal and casual living areas, loads of storage space and an oversized double garage.

Jess says the formal lounge room at the front of the home packs a punch as soon as you enter the home, with a curved wall of floor-to-ceiling windows.

“It’s a gorgeous light-filled room and feels really cosy with the gas fireplace and brick feature wall,” she said.

“Then you walk through into the huge open-plan kitchen, meals and family room which is so bright and airy with big windows and high raked ceilings.”

Sitting on a 600 square metre block, this home offers an incredible 415 square metres of living space.

On the ground level, the gleaming white kitchen boasts high-end appliances, including a 900 mm Smeg free-standing cooker, Caesarstone benchtops, soft close drawers and a butler’s pantry.

The open plan meals area and spacious family room open out onto a private alfresco dining area overlooking the nature reserve and bike paths. There is also a separate dining room for formal dinner parties.

“There’s so much room for a large family or entertaining in this home,” Jess said.

“Whether it’s reading a book in the cosy front lounge room, having a barbie on the deck or hosting a dinner party in the formal dining room, the home is perfect for a good time or some quiet time.”

Upstairs, Jess says the east-facing master bedroom is an oasis for parents, with another wall of curved glass capturing the views beyond the reserve to farmland, Mount Majura, Mount Ainslie and Parliament House.

“It’s a grand space, with a sitting area, private study, huge walk-in robe and luxe ensuite,” she said.

“With more people working from home, it’s great to have the office upstairs off the bedroom away from the busy family areas downstairs.

“The master bedroom opens out onto its own balcony, the perfect place to sit with a coffee in the morning sun and soak in those panoramic views.”

The basement is currently home to a wine cellar and home theatre but could be transformed into a studio, workshop or home gym.

“It’s such a great space and there’s really no limit to what you could do with it,” Jess said.

The massive 67 square metre garage has access to the backyard and is ideal for storing all the bikes and scooters – and has space for a workshop.

The private backyard is fully enclosed, but Jess said, with direct access to the reserve and bike paths, the kids will spend most of their time in the reserve.

“It’s such a fantastic location and the kids can play in the reserve without having to cross a road,” she added.

The double brick home is comfortable all year-round thanks to ducted air conditioning, in-slab heating over nine zones, double-glazed windows and it’s solar passive, making the most of its north-facing aspect.

Conveniently located within walking distance to Harrison High School and soon to be built Kenny (East Gungahlin High School), playing fields, a range of eateries, supermarkets and health clinics along with the expanding Canberra Light Rail.
