Grass fire in Nicholls

The ACT Fire Brigade is on scene at a grass fire in Nicholls.

The Brigade responded multiple resources to Clarrie Hermes Drive Street after receiving multiple emergency triple zero calls at 2:37pm.

The fire is burning is vacant grassland. There is no threat to any homes.

UPDATE 1: The fire is under control with two ACT Fire Brigade compressed air foam (CAFS) units working to extinguish it.

Large area of grassland burned out.

UPDATE 2: Fire has been extinguished. Crews are now just mopping up.

The cause will be investigated.
