“In the hills”. Really? I think the only places in Canberra which might be significantly warmer would be those where the temperature is increased by the urban heat island effect, and I don’t thing many of the locals would support bulldozing a Bruce Stadium sized hole in the middle of one of the existing suburbs so we can build a new statium.

The ‘unbearable’ cold is a byproduct of the increase in night games to ensure better TV ratings. I remember a time when the majority of Raider’s home games were on Sunday afternoon, where punters could soak up some mild winter sun. Night games were reserved for a couple of Friday night blockbusters, which I certainly never minded rugging up for. The atmosphere at those games was epic.

Soon we’ll have to build a Trojan Brumby to smuggle in everything people want to have. (‘It’s the new mascot.’) Not to wreak violence, just so we can eat and drink things.

Well, I am sure the boys from Actew/ActewAGL and their special guests in the corporate boxes don’t get gravy on their chips either so what are you complaining about?
This is the epitome of egalitarianism.

Just another minor issue to add onto the very large list of reasons why people stay at home & watch on TV, rather then go to the actual games.

– Sub par catering.
– Over priced everything, food, drinks, ticketing.
– Unbearably cold. (Whoever decided putting a stadium in the hills of Bruce was a good idea should be shot).

– Atmosphere of a morgue (especially at Brumbies games).

I love the Brumbies & have been a season ticket holder since 2000 but I can completely understand why people don’t go.
