Foxsports reports that George Gregan’s retirement plan involves heading to France to take the big bucks playing for Toulon.

“It’s the second biggest sporting transfer in France after Tana Umaga. I am really proud, it took me a lot of time and patience, but I managed to sign one of the best scrum halves in the world for the whole season,” Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal said overnight.

We can only hope his coffee shops are OK in his absence.

Well Michael Essien moved for 32 million pounds and Didier Drogba moved for 28 million, so I not sure how the transfer of George Gregan to a second division club compares to that?

Nice work if you can get it. Well, the being in France. Getting trampled into the ground by 100kg+ blokes probably wouldn’t be fun, but I guess that’s why I don’t play rugby.

It would cost more to get Tana Umaga over there as his hair would have to travel on a seperate visa and spend time in quarantine.

“…the second biggest sporting transfer…”?

Greegs must have been ripped off if he settled for less than anyone else playing in France. I’ll be putting money on Toulon to win next year with Greegs onboard.
