Following last night’s announcement of cycling infrastructure programs the Greens’ Caroline Le Couteur is letting us know that she’s distinctly lacking in whelm.
“The Government says it needs to do more consultation on Bunda Street. We want to see that by now concrete options and proposals are on the table, rather than a general discussion about what everybody might want.
“We were disappointed that the Cycle Loop was not funded in this years ACT Budget, and it’s not clear where this $9m has come from and whether it’s over a number of years.
“The ACT Greens called for the implementation of Pedal Power’s proposed Civic Cycle Loop through our submission* to the Bunda Street consultation undertaken in 2009, and renewed our calls for the project as I joined Pedal Power on Ride to Work Day (October 12) for a tour of the proposed route,” Ms Le Couteur said.
