From the wise minds assembling the Australian of the year list, news.com.auhas the story that George Gregan, beloved Brumby, idol of all prematurely balding men who decide to go the shave and nemesis of Sydney Rugby journalists, is in the running for the Australian of the year.

Okay, so he’s only down to the final 32, and there’s a lot of other candidates in there as well, but I’m sure a few Rioters could ensure a few unfornate accidents or potential scandals can come out to disqualify Janet Holmes a Court, Tim Flannery, Gabi Hollows and the rest of the field, leaving the running free for George to get what he so rightly deserves.

Surely it’s going to be Steve Irwin?

i would like to vote for VYberlina for australian of the year for his hard fought policy work on the establishment of civil rights directly related to females seeking homosexual unions.

I thought Dr Frazer was 2006 Aussie of the Year

What about the cervical cancer vaccine inventor Ian Frazer – has he had it already? or did he just get the nobel prize?

I’d be quite happy for the trend set over the last few years, that the Australian of the Year is not a sportsperson, to continue.

Id give it to Tim Flannery, he has done great work, But I am sure that we will pick the right person.

Geaorge isn’t balding – his wife doesn’t like the afro hair.
