Our Brave Leader is pleased to announce (particularly pleased if it distracts from the no confidence motion stemming from the coroner finding it was his fault Duffy burned down) that the gashly named “Groovin in Garema” is returning to entertain the good workers of Civic in their Thursday and Friday lunchtimes.

On Friday 23 February the Rodeo Clowns bring their eclectic mix of original alternative country music combined with blues and roots sounds to Garema Place… Coming up in the next few weeks; Heuristic with Latin and top 40 dance music, The Ashbury’s, Annie & the Armadillos, The Riverbank, Perla and the season will finish with funky reggae music from Dubba Rukki.

Interesting to see how the hard rocking Ashburys go in this party set.

Agh, I mean Julia…

You know, there’s much to b!tch about the current Government, but you’ve got to give them credit for the Groovin’ in the City thing. If you’re in an office in Civic, logoff now and go grab a bite/coffee/whatever in the sun or shade al fresco and take in the smooth grooves of Julie and the Deep Sea Sirens.

Now!

C’mon random git, we’re in Australia; it’s ‘arse’ not ‘ass’… 😉

and agree about Dubba Rukki, from what I’ve heard…

I wouldn’t say ashbury’s are hard rocking exactly.. they are pretty light…(personally I don’t really rate them.. i find them boring but each to their own)

Dubba Rukki are a pretty fantastic band.

I saw the Ashbury’s at the pot.

….. they were terrible, but I think it’s a time and practice thing. The Rostovs were on before them and kicked their ass.
