Gungahlin apartment fire

ACT Fire Brigade currently on scene at a small kitchen fire at the Abode Apartments, Gribble Street and Anthony Rolfe Avenue, Gungahlin.

Crews forced entry to the first floor apartment to extinguish the fire on a stove.

A nearby resident heard a ringing smoke alarm and called Emergency Triple Zero (000) at 8.06pm.

Two fire pumpers, the specialist Breathing Apparatus Unit, Hazardous Materials Van and a Command vehicle on scene.

Crews currently conducting atmospheric monitoring.

No evacuations.No-one inside the apartment at time of fire.

Apartment sustained minor smoke damage.

Investigations into the cause of the fire underway.

Al, Was standing outside at Siren bar and the units that attended didn’t seem to come from across the road, the shutters at the station stayed firmly down
