A new Medicare office opened in Gungahlin today, Gary Humphries informs us.

The new office is in the Gungahlin Town Centre shopping mall and will be open Monday to Friday 9-5, just like all other Medicare offices. Handy for all the office workers in the area…oh, that’s right…(however I am probably reliably informed there are a lot of stay-at-home mothers in the area who will find it useful).

Senator Humphries says he’s impressed with the way the office is equipped with the “latest facilities”, including “a ticketing system and sit-down counters”. Excuse me? A ticketing system like the ACT Government shopfronts have been using the past few years and sit-down counters like the ones UC’s always had are the latest facilities in customer service?

Never underestimate the ability of the professional politician to regurgitate other people’s BS while appearing astounded by common practice,

anyway as young families and old people are the leading users of health services it’s good to see family country getting an office.
