audi parking

BatmanFan67 kicked things off with this magnificent piece of work from Gungahlin with this note:

Seems money does buy happiness, or at least it buys two car parks

audi in gungahlin

Having had everything I’ve ever thought about Audi drivers confirmed.

Then apropos of nothing Overlord chimed in with another effort from the Gungahlin Coles car park.

If there are no parks, make a park. If there are plenty of parks, make a park.

The Audi is parked in a private car park that is secured by a boom gate. The car parks are allocated to the tenants and owners of the body corporate. The chances are extremely high that the Audi driver owns those car parks as part of his lease. Therefore he can park across them both if that’s what he wants to do. The VW driver is a tool and needs to learn how to park.

Doesn’t make it any less pompous, or make him any less of a tool. Rubbing his wealth in other people’s faces like that might well come back and bite him in the arse.

You’re joking, right? If he/she owns them then he/she can park how he/she wants. Pull your head out of your ass and don’t be so bitter.

I was at Aldi yesterday and there was 2 cars parked in the same fashion as the Audi . one was a mazda 6 and the other was a Honda Accord.Ii bet if i took a photo of them the responses from the people here would be quite different

I’ve done the same thing as the Audi before, I don’t see a problem with this if the car park is virtually empty during off peak hours…

The problem is it is an Audi.

The irony here, of course, is that the cost of an entry level TT like that one is in the ballpark of your average top-spec Landcruiser/Patrol/HSV that most people wouldn’t bat a jealous eyelid at.

The irony here of course is that you are speaking like an expert with no idea. A two second googlisation of the facts shows that the book price on a base model TT is $65k. Lets compare those to some of the other cars you mentioned:
Landcruiser – Starts at $60k, Top Spec is $115k
Patrol – Starts at $50k, Top Spec is $85k
HSV – the HSV range starts at $65k and goes up from there

A TT is nothing special and the base model (probably the whole range in fact) is a rip-off if you buy them new, just like most BMWs and Mercedes. They are nothing special and people pay a premium for the vag….I mean badge.

Erm, that’s kind of what I was saying. Sure I didn’t research the pricing to the letter, but it only further serves to support my point; that most of the insults in this thread have been because it’s “a rich Audi owner”. When in actual fact that particular model of TT is not really that expensive in relative terms.

Let me put it to you like this, if it was a Cruiser (or any other non-prestige marque) parked like that nobody would have made any comments about the owner being a rich wanker/real estate agent/cheating on his wife. Although we would have got a bunch of 4WD bashing, haha.

It’s just mindless stereotyping. Which we’re all guilty of I guess.

Audi TT is supposedly a groundbreaking design, but honestly all I see is a slightly squished VW Beatle, which would make sense since they’re the same company.

Personally I think some of Peter Schreyer’s work at Kia is better.

Go back some 15 years or so when the TT was first being designed; it was definitely groundbreaking and quite influential. Just a shame it was built on the Mk4 Golf platform which was perfectly good for a runabout hatch, but not so good for a “sports car”. Current model TTs are much better thanks to a better platform (there’s a reason you see so many Mk5 GTIs around these days).

You’re right about Kia, though, some of their new/current stuff looks great. The original Rio design had to be the result of a lost bet, it was terrible!

I’ve done the same thing as the Audi before, I don’t see a problem with this if the car park is virtually empty during off peak hours. Making your own parking spot however is poor form, especially where it turns a two way into a one way, such as the side roads in the CISAC car park.

Audi VW – both from the same company, soon to be the world’s largest auto maker. Read what you want into that.

The same company is Volkswagen, who have owned Audi since the 60s. World’s largest car maker can be defined a number of ways. Either way, not really sure what you were trying to imply.

At last count Volkswagen Auto Group were third on annual production, still a bit over 1,000,000 vehicles behind Toyota and GM who were neck and neck.

VAG (includes 10 brands now) are more likely to claim the biggest tag on value. They got into the #1 position a few years back when a backward-looking takeover bid by Porsche boosted their share price (in the end VW ended up buying Porsche) while at the same time Toyota’s value took a dive.

Not sure if Toyota’s value has recovered and the full buyout of Porsche by Volkswagen is still negotiating the German courts last time I checked, but is basically a done deal.

Lol, I so would have squeezed my car in next to the Audi anyway.

If the owner is a male, then they must have a very small penis indeed. I have no idea what the female equivalent is.

Boys have a penis, girls have a vagina.

I think the question relates to the adjective, not the noun. If a male idiot has a small penis, would a female idiot similarly have a small vagina? I would’ve thought the converse, but…but…I can’t believe I’m writing this.

Yeah, I geddit, I just wanted to quote a line from an Arnie flick. 😛

Given I see this flog’s car under Aldi in Gungaglin most days….would you like me to print this ‘thread’ and put it under his windscreen?

Unfortunately, we cannot ‘box him in’ as that parking section behind the yellow fence is accessed via a boom gate. Bugger.

I saw an Audi driver wash his car at the servo yesterday with the squeege! Down the road is a proper car wash.

I can’t believe how you people constantly waste your time replying to these ‘he parked badly/she parked outside the lines’ etc threads…… Oh wait…….

one of my favourite Top Gear moments was the marque christmas presents. Bugatti Aftershave, Porsche bottle openers…

Jeremy pulls a stuffed rooster out of the bag. Richard says

“Jeremy, has that cock got 4 rings on it?”

I reckon this is not as bad as the tools who drive to CISAC pool/gym in Belco, presumably to get some exercise, and then park illegally because they can’t bare parking more than 10 meters from the door !?!

Bare parking for skinny dippers.

The Audi OMG!!!! Maybe they thought that you parked like that down in Gunghalin!!!

The VW probably thought it was a car park and was wondering why no one else parked beside him/her LOL

No doubt that’s a real estate agents car. He was probably in a rush to cheat on his wife & didn’t have time to park his car properly. Hardly his fault really.

What stopped you parking in the car spot where the rear right wheel is situated, looks like just enough room 🙂

Something small like a Swift or Getz would fit in nicely.

+1

They’re too busy working on getting their upper half buff and losing their necks in the process, they don’t care about walking to work the legs out!

The Audi has been parked like that because it is waiting for some hay.

Full points for the artful obfuscation of the Audi’s number plate in the first pic.

Thoroughly Smashed11:15 am 16 Jan 12

That’s when you put beaten up old cars either side of the Audi.

Audi – the universal symbol for ‘wanker’.
