Canberra’s Hancock Basement are taking the unusual (for a local band) step of releasing a 7″ vinyl record. (The things your parents used for music before CDs). To that end they’re having a launch party with a huge lineup next Thursday night at the Transit Bar (Akuna St, Civic). Entry is free.

This from the Facebook event page.

Apart from headliners HANCOCK BASEMENT, THE INHERITORS (CENTRAL COAST) will be laying down some glorious T-Rex and the Kinks inspired rock-n roll, while D’OPUS AND ROSHAMBO (DJ SET) will be busting out non-stop classic party jams on the decks. SUPER BEST FRIENDS (DJ SET) will also delve into their record collections for your enjoyment, and lastly (but by no means leastly) the STRANGEWAYS DJs will bring the house down with a classic soulwax inspired set. Be there!

Come and help them celebrate another massive milestone and kick start another amazing 12 months of sure-fire success.

While on ‘Cock news Nick has also helpfully pointed out that if you’ve missed out on Splendour In The Grass tickets you can get in the draw for some by voting for them to play at the festival.

Fresh is best! Indeed. I’ll be taking a refresher beatbox course before Saturday, I’m hoping the crew will be there to rock the house!

Please bring ear warmers and mittens along, it may be brisk in that big room!

😀

That sing along sounds great G-Fresh! Will there be freshly squeezed juice? Should I freshen up before I come along! Fresh is best G!!!

Freshly squeezed juice may affect G-Fresh’s ability to human beatbox.

I suggest Chamomile Tea.

I love rich kids.

Think I’ll wait ’till they play ANU in June with Hell City Glamours.

Great Nambucco Deliria, good to know that a) you’ll be missing the first gig and b) you’ll be at this second one with Hell City Glamours. Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

By the way, what are your plans for the weekend? I was thinking of organising a Saturday Brunch Sing Along. Bring yourself and some friends to ABN 11am Saturday, would be great to catch up!

Cheers

Indeed, thanks for that.

I think you’ll find it’s actually next Thursday, 28th.
