This just in to us from Canberra Car Chaos:

Sometimes while driving, just to test myself, I wear a blindfold and use the force.

Driving on the golf course, I hope…

My car can park hands free and it works well to so while my car parks itself my hands a free to use phone for a good chat and drink a coffee lol

I got one who decided to text while negotiating the roundabout at the entry to Woden, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1bMYK1ujVg he drifts into the cycle path too. As I went past I saw him with his fondleslab in the middle of the steering wheel, texting with both hands. My dashcam’s fixed so I couldn’t get a through-the-window shot like the clip above, but I’m not sure I’d want to fiddle with it while moving anyway.

I have never used my mobile while driving. There are plenty of people who don’t.

On country roads with no other cars around, yes, but not where anyone can see me, I mean not when there is anyone else around to put at risk.

Will use the Bluetooth when I can get it to connect to my newish phone, but this new “no touching” rule in NSW will be treated with the contempt it deserves (except if there’s anybody watching).

Hands up all the Rioters who have NEVER used their mobile (sans handsfree) while driving.

Me, actually. Or does that make me a goody two-shoes?

Likewise me. Yes there are some of us.

It’s bad form, but I’m not convinced hands aren’t overrated given how some people use them driving. The number of people who think they can safely control a car having both hands together at the very top of the wheel, or worse just one hand planted, usually just the fingers, at the very top.

Scary to see him drift in to the on road bike lane. If a cyclist is there at that time, that’s one more fatal for the year for Canberra.

Yeah thought so.

I can almost claim that, except that I’ve checked texts while stopped at a red light on a couple of occasions. Unlike a lot of people, I’m keenly aware of my own limitations when it comes to multitasking.

Therein lies my problem, im so farken awesome, i have no limits…

Not uncommon for me to play Candy Crush whilst driving…

Guy with a mobile in one hand and sandwich in the other in Kingston last week, steering with his pinky finger.

But “everyone else does it” is not a reasonable defence.

It just means that everyone else is guilty too, they just haven’t gotten caught or have been lucky enough not to cause an accident.

I don’t have a mobile phone.

I often use my phone when I’m driving. Hands-free using Bluetooth of course.

I hope this car’s rego was given to the police.
