Guys they’re not asking you to find her.

If it doesn’t ring any bells then it’s not for you.

I’ll bite – what am I missing?

Ok, my take on it is this. The appeal wasn’t for someone who was lost and wandering around. She’d been in contact with her mother, so had probably taken off and was with a friend somewhere, but refusing to come home or let her know where she was.

This was designed to prompt a friend, or friend of a friend, who knew where she was (or had heard about it from another friend, etc etc) to get in touch. The other possible result – and it sounds like this is what’s happened – is it’s scared her into getting in touch with Police herself. I imagine it’s kinda confronting as a 13 year old to suddenly have your photo splashed around in the media, and it’s prompted her to take action.

Pure speculation with no facts to back it up, but I tend to agree with JB’s comment that if you don’t know who this girl is, then this appeal wasn’t meant for you.

That’s probably right. So what’s the problem with actually saying that?

“Seeking assistance” is in the first sentence. I think they are asking people to help find her.

I think it is reasonable to ask what side of town (north or south) she was from. People generally need a straw to grab onto it’s these things in order to be interested.

I’m sorry she is missing, I feel for her parents. I can’t help thinking that a lot of teenage girls go AWOL nowadays though.

She’s been found.

No idea what end of town she is from? Would think that would help a bit…

I certainly hope she’s ok, but more information would help.
