Sometimes we get a media release that leaves us speechless.

Canberra CBD are making known their arrangements to reduce the Civic’s yellow rivers of a late night.

A urinal trial in late-night city hot spots will begin tonight (Thursday 14 March) to gain data on the issue of public and illegal urination.

An initiative of Canberra CBD Limited (CCBD), the trial will run from Thursday night to Monday morning over the next three weeks, with the urinals put in place after 7pm and removed by 7am.

CCBD’s new Chief Executive Officer, Jane Easthope, said the trial would provide a useful insight.

“Canberra CBD is focussed on providing a clean and safe city for the broader Canberra community,” Easthope said. “This urinal trial is not a permanent solution, rather a trial to provide data for decision making purposes.

“There is a large level of poor behaviour that occurs during the early hours of the mornings, leaving business owners and city occupants dismayed.

“We hope that an initiative such as this urinal trial will go some way into creating a positive change and we encourage men to make use of the facilities.”

I think I’d rather use a secluded bush. Taking a leak where people can see me would seriously hamper my ability to go…and what about if I wanted to drop a sly fart?

Well this will reduce the pressure on the unisex public facilities.

And I’m pretty sure most of the public urinations (of course not all) are by men.

I once had a female friend who would pee anywhere, like on the backseat of a bus for example. We are friends no longer.

Ah! Golden memories.

Golden showers?

It is very important that every joke be properly explained, lest it be subtle. Or funny.

That would be showering with the sun streaming through the window surely?

Back when I was your age …

When I went out clubbing with friends, it was usually the girls urinating in the streets, simply because the lines for the loos were so long.

Hopefully with the pressure taken off the public loos, we will see more women being able to make it to the loo to pee instead of dropping pants in the alleyways inside the Melbourne/Sydney buildings.

Pity. She had skill, but you were no longer.

Kinda looks like one big circle jerk.

Yeah, high five.

Kinda looks like one big circle jerk.

I look forward to the results of this trial – hopefully expressed in litres.

Yep, but they work.

No, they just sit around taking the piss.

And for women?

Sorry, this is the wiener’s circle.

And for women?

Any one of these products combined with the trial may help…

What’s that sheila at the front with the sideburns doing?

Um, you are quite right, not all. However, a lot of women are walking around in severe discomfort. Or nipping up alleys, and isn’t that a wonderful option?

It’s actually quietly outrageous to have these without something for women, despite what they might do overseas.

saw some of these along the St Martin canal in Paris last September – odouriferous if not cleaned or they get clogged/over full with stale pee 🙁

And what about She-Pees for the ladies?

There’ll be a steady stream of takers although the women will need a leg up!

Well that’s the blokes sorted…….. however women looking for a place to go to the loo in Civic …..

Should lower the walls to encourage communication.

“Hey man, how’s it hangin’’.

Well this will reduce the pressure on the unisex public facilities.

Beats installing more conventional public toilets, considering the ones in Civic are only used for shooting up in.

For anybody else wondering what a “Kros urinal” looks like:

They appear to be available with or without the rear screen:
