Police are appealing to the public for any information that may be able to assist in their investigation into an aggravated robbery at KFC in Hawker last night (Sunday, November 14).
Around 10pm police were called to KFC in Hawker after a man and woman entered the restaurant, each armed with a knife. The man grabbed a staff member in the restaurant however the staff member was able to break free and ran behind the counter.
The offenders approached the counter and demanded cash. They were handed a sum of cash from one of the tills. The offenders then jumped over the counter and unsuccessfully tried to obtain a further sum of money. They left the restaurant a short time later.
The man is described as about 180 centimetres (5’11”) tall with a slim build. He had a black and white mask with a green hood and dark coloured bandanna wrapped around his neck. He was wearing a dark-coloured loose fitting jacket and dark-coloured tracksuit pants. He was also wearing gloves and spoke with an Australian accent.
The woman is described as having a slim build and long dark brown hair. She was wearing black pants, a black top with a red horizontal stripe and a black balaclava. She was carrying a black bag.
