ACT Policing arrested a 31-year-old Hawker man for multiple aggravated robbery and theft offences early this morning (June 1).
Shortly after midnight, ACT Policing Criminal Investigation officers executed a search warrant at a house in Gordon. During the search a number of items were seized in relation to ongoing investigations involving aggravated robberies.
Detective Superintendent Brett McCann from Criminal Investigations said that this arrest is important given the seriousness of the offences committed.
“Arrests like this demonstrate that ACT Policing is committed to apprehending people who commit these types of violent crimes which often traumatise the victims and witnesses,” Detective Superintendent McCann said.
At the completion of the search warrant, the man was conveyed to the ACT Watch House. He will be charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and theft and will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning. Bail will be opposed.
