If you’re going to have a nasty accident where better than outside a hospital?

This warning from @ACTPol_Traffic:

MVA Haydon Drive outside of Calvary Hospital. Two southbound lanes blocked. Emergency Services on scene.

Just after I bought my current old bus, when it was still my brand new pride and joy, I coasted up to the lights at the entrance to Calvary one morning on the way to work. There was the remnants of a crash being sorted out on the traffic island in the middle of the road. I came to a halt and glanced into my rear vision mirror, just in time to see the young woman in the car behind me checking out the crash as she motored towards me.

Being motionless and helpless, I had plenty of time to see her finish surveying the wreckage, then turn towards me, then make a great big “O” with her mouth, and two more big “O”s with her eyes as she proceeded to drive right up my clacker. I think in the aviation world this would be the type of pilot error known as “controlled flight into terrain”.

Amazingly I wasn’t hurt, nor was her partner, nor were the two grommets in the back seat of her car. Still, at the time I thought that there could be no better place to have two consecutive crashes than the entrance to the hospital

Drove past just after it happened,

Cops where there and both the large flatbed and the car looked pretty beat up but both were inside the hospital enterance..

Unless it was a wreck on a wreck?

Just drove past there now… Seemed all clear to me.,…
