World+Dog is reporting on Queanbeyan’s Mark Webber not quite making it to be the Formula 1 World Champion.

We’ll have to see what the future brings.

David Campese, Ricky Stuart, Glenn Lazarus, need I go on?

All big names in Germany, China and South America!!

Webber would be up there with the best known Australians around the world.

Just to get the quote right…

Still the best thing to come out of Queanbeyan since Canberra Ave. Very proud of his efforts despite the competition he faced inside and outside of his car.

Were you guys watching the same race I was? How about Kubica on Kobishi (sp), not a great race but plenty of preasure racing going on? Shame the RB had nothing in a straight line.

Webber kind blew it in Quaifying, 6 tenths of Vettel. 2010 was a great year for him and I hope 2011 is better. He now has the experence. Hopfully Vetel continues to be just a bit less consistent than Mark.

Go the BBQ!! 🙂

doubt old Webber will be with redbull next season.

He’s already signed to RBR for next year. Although he has (seemingly) been doing his best to talk his way out of that contract in the last two weeks…

True. AKA any Tilke Design

A pity those God-awful Webber/Canberra Milk ads got such airplay… terrible, terrible ads…

Myself, I think we are in for a few years of another German dominating the sport…

David Campese? Glen Lazarus?

All Quimby town people who didn’t fail at the business end.

Reading this I can think of Michael Diamond right away. Isn’t he a multiple gold medalist for Australia in the sport of shooting?

Didn’t win the championship, but had a pretty good year. I’m sure the millions of dollars he earned this year will be some consolation.

I think Mark has to stay with RBR if he wants to stay competitive. McLaren and Ferrari have locked away their drivers already, and anything other than them would probably be a backwards step.

Thing is, if he thought RBR favoured Vettel this year, it’ll only get worse in 2011.

Fingers crossed he proves to be a nuisance again! Final result aside, he had a great year, really. He and us (his fans) should be very proud.

He didn’t win the world championship, but I still have to wonder how many lads from Queanbeyan have come that close.

Bloody good achievement. Sadly, he’s probably getting a bit on the old side for forumla 1 now.

wonder if any other team will pick him up

It was an unfortunate strategic error that saw him and Alonso come in for a tyre swap early in the race, placing them both back among traffic on a track that despite having amazing facilities, doesn’t seem to have included anyway for cars to actually pass each other, leading to a fairly ordinary processional race…

Michael Schumacher is lucky to still have his head connected to his shoulders though…
