Motorists heading to the coast are being warned to expect more changes to traffic conditions as work on the Batemans Bay Bridge replacement project continues.

Both the Kings and Princes highways will be impacted as part of the work, which will be carried out over at least the next two weeks.

Resurfacing work will be carried out in both directions on the Princes Highway between Beach Road and North Street, and the intersections and approaches of the Princes Highway and Kings Highway, and the Kings Highway and Old Punt Road.

To reduce the impact on road users, some of the work will be carried out between 6 pm and 7 am from Sunday (31 October) for up to 15 nights during November, weather permitting.

Night work will only take place on Sunday to Thursday nights. Day work will also continue throughout this period.

Detours may be in place at night for road users wanting access between the Princes Highway and the CBD via Beach Road or North Street while work is carried out at alternative intersections.

A combination of traffic controllers, portable traffic signals and pilot vehicles will control traffic and guide road users through the worksites.

A reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will also be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, follow the directions of signs and traffic control and allow up to five minutes additional travel time.

Pedestrians may also experience changes such as temporary surface changes and detours when crossing the road in this area and should follow directions of signs and traffic control at all times.
