Heavy Kevvy jets in to fire the starters gun. September 7 is the date

johnboy 4 August 2013 42

Rejoice oh public servants languishing in the thrawl of Kevin The Pretender’s reign of terror.

The SMH reports he’s flown into town possibly to pay an visit to Yarralumla and ask the Governor General to finally let the Australian people have a say in who reigns over us:

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has arrived in Canberra, after flying in from Brisbane, where Fairfax Media believes he will soon announce a federal election for September 7.

The Prime Minister’s Office would not confirm reports that Mr Rudd was due to make a September 7 poll announcement.
?Fairfax Media reported on Saturday that September 7 would be the likely election date, with Mr Rudd to set that date on Sunday or Monday.

UPDATE: The Australian has confirmed the election has been called for 7 September.

Well, I lost my money. Wonder who had Sept 11 in the pool?

Well, at least it’s a relatively short campaign.

In a little over a month we’ll be liberalised and the abbot will be ordained..

All that fuss over a single week! Don’t tell me that anyone believes Yom Kippur had anything to do with it.

I was guessing he’d try and get it in early before the morons who got excited about his removal of Gillard woke up again to what a tool he really is.

Never mind, it looks like the honeymoon is well and truly over for him now, even if he’s effectively silenced Abbott.

really? Gillard called an election several months ago and it seems a campaign has been running since then.

Can anyone tell me why Simon Sheikh has chosen aqua for the colour of his signage (erected overnight), and not Green? Would it be because he actually sees himself as something different, but is using the Greens as a vehicle to get himself a spot?

Simon Sheik and his merry band of Shakers (or should that be Sheikers) seem to have been the first to pollute the roadside with their corflute signs, Barry Drive sported quite a number of them this morning.

Tom Sefton had his ute out on Dairy Flat Road hours before the announcement.

    Commando style!

Saw a Greens poster this morning along Barry Drive.

Number one policy it seems is to keep Abbott out of the senate.

Which is odd, given Abbott will never be in the senate.

Tom Sefton was standing on the back of his ute waving at cars and worrying cyclists this morning on Adelaide Ave. Looked like a tool to be honest. Out of the blocks very early, can he sustain the pace?

Aqua is a combination of green and blue – blue is the Liberal’s colour. It looks like an attempt to suggest he isn’t really a Green but a conservative, an attempt to hijack Zed’s vote. Simon, this might work in your hometown hundreds of kilometres away but in politically savvy Canberra we can see right thru it.

Kev will get spanked, but it doesn’t really matter. The main thing is that the Greens will get turfed out.

Simon Sheikh’s gorilla army was quick to get the whole route from Tuggers to Civic signposted.

Guy’s got no chance, which on the one hand is deserved, he’s a parachute candidate which I hate and he quite obviously doesn’t give a s**t about Canberra, he made that clear on 666 this morning. But on the other hand, that means Zed looks a sure winner which is a cringeworthy prospect.

Yes, but we’ve forgotten everything (the unfortunate bits, anyway) that happened before 26 June, haven’t we………?

I think you guys might be reading a little too much into the colour of the signs. Sure, it isn’t green, which might mean something since that is the name of the party. But unless he replaced it will a pleasing shade of socialist alliance red, I don’t see the big deal.

Is there a pleasing shade of socialist alliance red?
