Chief Minister Katy Gallagher is inviting Canberra’s business and not-for-profit community to participate in free Digital Business Capacity Building Workshops to accelerate business engagement with the ACT digital economy.
The free workshops are part of the ACT Government’s Digital Canberra initiative, in partnership with Canberra Business Council, and focus on building the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capacity of Canberra’s business community.
“These workshops are open to all businesses and non-profits in the Canberra community and focus on topics such as cloud computing, utilising digital tools in a business context and effective social media,” the Chief Minister said.
“The popularity of the workshops is clear to see with every session since the program’s inception in May 2014, including tonight’s workshop, being fully subscribed. It’s great to see such an interest from the Canberra business community in the digital economy.”
“Tonight’s workshop will focus on engagement with the new digital customer and will be attended by representatives from the not-for-profit sector and local small and medium enterprises, with topics including writing for social media, content marketing and how to advertise on Google.
“All of the workshops are aimed at providing businesses with key information on how to successfully navigate the digital space and how they can use the tools and technology available to benefit their business and improve the relationship they have with customers.
“We’ve already heard from many businesses that have attended the workshops and successfully implemented change within their own organisations to lower costs, increase revenues and become more efficient.
“For any local business hoping for some practical knowledge, advice, information and insights from leaders in Canberra’s ICT sector, I encourage you to register before workshop spaces fill up,” the Chief Minister concluded.
For businesses interested in attending the workshops, they will be held once a month for the remainder of the year on the following dates:
• August 28th
• September 24th
• October 30th
• November 27th
• December 10th
Future workshops will include topics such as how to have a mobile workforce, unified communications, utilising cloud technology and engaging with new customers.
