Katy and Simon have let it be known that the ACT is all signed up to the Murray Darling Basin Agreement:

Chief Minister, Katy Gallagher and Minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development, Simon Corbell, today announced that the ACT has signed the Murray Darling Basin Agreement which will help secure the future of the Murray-Darling Basin.

“This is an important step in restoring the health of the Murray-Darling Basin,” the Chief Minister said.

“The ACT has also achieved a better funding result than first proposed – the ACT will now receive $98,000 in 2012-13 and a total of $2.28 million by 2019-20.

“The ACT is committed to the Murray-Darling Basin Plan Implementation as the best way forward in addressing the agricultural and environmental issues in the Basin and ensuring the ACT’s ability to provide a secure water supply for our growth into the future.”

One can’t help but wonder if, in a teensy bit under 100 days, the political dynamic might shift a bit from the needs of Labor voting urbanites in Canberra towards rural agriculture.

Looking forward to the photo op with PM Abbott and CM Gallagher in the near future.

I think she is still a bit shocked we went 8 all with the slimy Greens breaking the deadlock in a city with two universities and thousands and thousands of public servants.

The previous Labor government didn’t exactly cover itself with glory. The only reason they got back was that the Liberals were/are an even bigger shower. Electing Zed would have been like hitting yourself on the head with a hammer because it feels good when you stop.

My favourite opera. There is a full Ring Cycle performance later this year in Melbourne, I wish I had unlimited time and money…:(

….

It’s already sold out, which is quite remarkable, as the cheapest tickets for the Cycle are $1000.

Of course, some people travel the world, trying to go to as many Ring Cycles as possible. I would like to see one, but that would be enough for me!

Interesting that Clarke spells ‘Labour’ that way, switch; his New Zealand roots showing themselves, I suppose.

I notice Gallagher is unenthusiastic when doing her joint pressers with Gillard. Sure, she’s some time from an election, but I think she doesn’t want the stench to transfer as it did in QLD and many other states. I think she is still a bit shocked we went 8 all with the slimy Greens breaking the deadlock in a city with two universities and thousands and thousands of public servants.

Ignorant ! .. No no. We’re up there with the best. Remember the words of our cultural attache to the Court of St James ; Sir Les Pattereson ” “We’ve got culture in Australia, ladies and gentlemen. We’ve got culture up to our a**eholes…”

And there was I thinking it meant got a damn ring. They can drown said ring in the Murumbidgee, after a good ole immolation.

A poem for you, poetix, courtesy of John Clarke:

Why is it that every year
On remote coastlines
Labour leaders
Beach themselves?
Whole schools of them,
Apparently healthy Labour leaders
Thousands of miles off course and stranded,
Spume drifting from their tragic holes.

Why do they do it?
Is it not knowing where they are going?
Or is it guilt over where they have been?
There is no more futile prospect in nature
Than ordinary folk with flippers and buckets
Working urgently in the deepness of the shore
To turn the stricken Labour leaders around
Before nightfall.

Good to see Katy is running ACT GovCo as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Federal Labor party.

And there was I thinking it meant got a damn ring. They can drown said ring in the Murumbidgee, after a good ole immolation.

And I here there’s outrage over the rate rises in Niflheim, too.
