Batten down the hatches people, the BOM radar has got a load of heavy stuff incoming!

Here’s the severe storm warning.

(And just remember, it *never* rains here…)

UPDATED: And, er, there it goes… Bugger, all that deep red stuff and the warning had me going.

I had the car under cover all prepared for this storm – no such luck! Not a drop fell.

Once again, all show and no go here in Tuggeranong.

It has only rained at my house once this year. And then not een that much (7ml).

It has rained more in tuggers and woden tho.

I picked all my ripe tomatos and still no severe weather…

Oh well im off to water my remaining green tomatos

Defintely agree with neanderthalsis on this one. Canberra storms are lame compared to tropical storms. Had lived in Canberra for 4 years before experiencing a decent storm…
Hope the northern suburbs got something from this storm activity.

I don’t know that you could call them lame, given that Thumper, Mael and the gang will no doubt be spending most of their Friday and Saturday cleaning up after them.

Hooray for the SES!

RFS are also on alert. Lightning behold!

On the loop it looks as though it will pass off to the north west. But as far as Canberra and storms go, most of them are pretty lame compared to a good tropical storm.

The projected area contained in the warning looks suspiciously phallic too.
