“WTF was that chick on…?”
My guess would be a combination of Hydrogen Peroxide seeping into the brain and Cocaine/LSD/Valium/pot/Draino and possibly Brasso to come up with lyrics like that.

“Three of the greatest tracks of all time. :P”

Geeze, while we’re on “Tracks that made me remember how crap rap used to be” I can’t believe you forgot to add Blondie’s “Rapture”!

“Flash is fast, Flash is cool
Francois sez fas, Flashe’ no do
And you don’t stop, sure shot
Go out to the parking lot
And you get in your car and you drive real far
And you drive all night and then you see a light
And it comes right down and lands on the ground
And out comes a man from Mars
And you try to run but he’s got a gun
And he shoots you dead and he eats your head
And then you’re in the man from Mars
You go out at night, eatin’ cars
You eat Cadillacs, Lincolns too
Mercurys and Subarus
And you don’t stop, you keep on eatin’ cars
Then, when there’s no more cars
You go out at night and eat up bars where the people meet”

WTF was that chick on…?

Get one part open mind, one part Rapper’s Delight (Sugarhill Gang), one part The Message (Grandmaster Flash) and one part Talkin all that Jazz (Stetsasonic) then tell me you don’t like hip hop.

Three of the greatest tracks of all time. 😛

Bloody hell! I could buy a Bel Biv Devoe CD for that much and then I wouldn’t need your workshop haha!

Just jokes…

I anticipated that any mention of hip hop would set some of you curmudgeons off like a flock of Indian Mynas. It’s a legitimate form of poetry. While I don’t dig the gender politics of gangsta rap music or superficiality of commercial hip hop, the rhythms and rhyme patterns of rappers like Ghost Face, Outcast and Emininem are very complex and skillful. Is anyone going to winge about the price of this workshop? $10/$35?? – Hal Judge

Dammit Mr Evil

I was about to severely bag out hip hop but yes – i agree. It’s more about Australian w@nkers pretending that they are part of some backstreet drug dealing lead popping USA slum zone. If that’s what they are dreaming about then why don’t they all just fuck off from the safer and less armed comunities of Australia and live in the USA. Let’s see just how long they’d last there.

Alright. I hate Rap – Hip Hop – whatever they want to call it. I’m sick and tired of anger. And i’m also sick and tired of people who can’t sing. If you cant sing, hire a singer. D!ckheads

I think Thumper was being hammered for my comment about Hip Hop.

I actually don’t hate hip hop that much: it’s just the shit that goes along with it – like young Aussie-born idiots who think they were born in LA or Detroit.

Will the bitches and ho’s be there as well?

grr wish i could have beer but unfortunate i am sick as a dogulator

i love all genres of music. all music that sounds good is good. if i hate it then it sucks. i will not typecast my music taste because that is a sure fire way to miss out on decent tunes. and jaco rocks…have got a an awesome turorial video of his… while the tut side isn’t that great just watching it jaco smoking up the fret board is fantastico.

Now, when have I mentioned that I like hip-hop? I’m just defending other peoples tastes and if I see a pointless comment eg Thumpers I’ll have a word. Real music to me is probably similar to Thumpers: Pearl Jam, Chili Peppers, STP. Shit Thumper, I even have a couple of Jaco Pastorius’ records. My belief is that he was out of line and coming across as being better than anyone who likes hip-hop because he doesn’t and I think that’s a pretty piss weak comment.

I’ve seen his pic, count me in for some biffo. lol

Absent Diane2:23 pm 07 Mar 08

I smell some biffo coming on.. bring it on!

I’m not entirely sure. hahaha

I heard your tracks, no you can’t

Cry me a river…..

Even still… i think I would prefer thumpers enterpretation of music over yours..

Wow. Such is the open-mindedness of certain people on here. You just have to laugh.

I heard your tracks, no you can’t.

Just what the world needs Thumper, another pop funk band…

I thought you guys would’ve died along with the Gypsy Bar.

I don’t need a workshop to learn how to be a wigger. YouTube has plenty of Vanilla Ice clips.

“Did I ever ask you to listen to it?

Do I give a f*ck if you don’t listen to it?

Somehow you seem to have mixed me up as someone who is bagging hip hop. True, I can’t stand it, but if that’s what some poeple like then so be it. I have nothing against it.

I don’t like opera either, but others do. No drama.

Pull your head in sunshine and stop jumping to conclusions.”

Hit a raw nerve did I? It just seemed like you thought you were above hip-hop with your little comment.

Why did you feel the need to comment anyway? No-one cares about your instrument or how you play with it.

You’re probably the sort of fag who plays bass with a pick anyway.

“Pull your head in sunshine and stop jumping to conclusions.”

WTF? Like you’re the sort of cock smoker I should be listening to. Grow up and show some fucking respect.

Actually, I’m into wave modulators. I’m still plucking up the courage to tell Thumper I want to get about 50 of the little fuckers and jam with his band by dancing like a ninja who lied down on an ants nest.

Absent Diane12:10 pm 07 Mar 08

actually – australia has a lot to do with hip hop.. given that the first sequencer designed by an australian.. and the sequencers main first use was hiphop or rap was.

anyway who gives a fck if it is not australian.. patriotism is a morons game 🙂 seriously for the stupid – if it sounds good or appeals to you then that is fantastic. if it doesn’t who cares.
word.

“If you limited your musical and dance outlook to things traditional here you’d be limited to square dancing to a lagerphone.”

Gee, I didn’t know that those Indigenous people who’ve been here for a few years didn’t have a long history of musical talent?

And we’ll stick to not listening to it…

Yeah, about as aussie as jazz, pop, rock, blues, or symphony orchestras.

If you limited your musical and dance outlook to things traditional here you’d be limited to square dancing to a lagerphone.

I prefer interpretive dance with Llamas, Graffitti ‘artists’ and Toastmasters.

Hip Hop – another great Aussie tradition. 🙁

I prefer interpretive dance, with castanets.

Thumper, Maelinear and Growling Ferret should really hook into this!
