Hoe needed in Canberra

For the last month Ive been trying to buy a good hoe and have had no luck.

I even tried Fyshwick without result. I bought a cheap hoe with three prongs from a hardware store, out of desperation, but it exploded into three on the third swing.

What I want is a heavy duty cast ion hoe with a hole for a handle.

Does anyone know where in Canberra I can buy one?

I suggest you go to Belconnen Mall.Take the stairs right to the bottom.Go past the D.King.sidle up And make yourself at home on this jolly old fellow.he’ll try and get it for you.

Normally you have to have a hoe already to be able to find one to swing with!

Ho’s gardening variety are generally mattock’s bunnings sell them in 2 parts or together

Try make sure you get the kind that has the handle feed in from the top so the heavy metal thing of the mattock doesnt go flying off when your swining.

You need a rakehoe / mcloud / fire rake. They are the best gardening tool ever… and are awesome for building mountain bike trails – and virtually indestructable. You can get one at Bunnings:

Ha. Starting to look like the answer to the question was this.

mate if fyshwick didn’t yield results then I think you’ve got a lost cause on your hands.

‘Howard Molson’s got a new shovel. It’s a lovely shovel, it’s got a big brass handle!

Not the tool I’m looking for.

I also had an issue looking for a good hoe. We ended up settling with a mattock for the heavy stuff, and that very weak 3 pronged hoe for the light stuff

Good thing we’re not in America. A gardening shop in LA advertised “black ho’s” and landed in big trouble with the anti-discrimination police. “Ho” in the US is hip hop talk for whore.

Or try garage sales. Old tools still work well, often they just have a little surface rust but are sound underneath.

Same with baking trays. The flimsy crap they sell in stores these days just doesn’t compare to old ones.

These guys are out in Gundaroo. They have the goods. http://www.allsun.com.au/

Can’t help with the hoe, but from your description of swinging it maybe you need a mattock instead. I bought a decent mattock from Bunnings.

That’s a ho not a hoe.

Anyway reminds me of one of my favourite episodes of Corner Gas.
