A 60-year-old Holt man was arrested yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 9 March) after driving his vehicle intoxicated and being involved in a collision.
Police were called to the Kippax Shopping Centre around 2.45pm after members of the public reported a motor vehicle collision involving a possible intoxicated driver.
No one was injured as a result of the collision and police conducted a road side screening test on the driver of a blue Toyota Camry, who returned a positive sample. The man was conveyed to the Belconnen Police Station and recorded a blood alcohol concentration reading of 0.239.
The man’s licence was immediately suspended by police and he was conveyed to the ACT Watch House and charged. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
