The miracle of YouTube brings us a look at the workings of the police crackdown on hoon driving on deserted country roads.

The attached text by “DoYouBoost” reads:

“the blockaid the police used to check canberra cars, us, the so called “hoons” ppffftt yeah right”

style_maniac: before you start calling people a snitch think about it first. The police have known about this for years so i don’t think anyone could be a snitch besides the media. The ABC had hidden cameras in braddon years ago and i’ve been on the Barton Highway when the cops blocked us all in.. its not hard for the cops to see 60 to 80 cars driving in a pack. Plus everyone knows about the number plate off the cop car being stolen. What i think some people here are trying to say that is this is not the right way to go about getting a dragway. With all this crap in the media lately it looks bad. People need to start to promote driver safety and driver education, and not illegal burnouts.

style_maniac: before you start calling people a snitch ill just tell you now that there are photos going around of the police number plates that were taken off the police car.. its funny shit.. lol.

RusHHouR here is Brisbane, is a frequent visitor to the local drag strip(Willowbank) as well as attending Track days to the likes of Time Attack(www.timeattack.com.au)

i’m extremely positive that if and when a drag strip opens in Canberra all this so call ‘mayhem’ you beleive RusHHouR is causing will vanish,

Have any of you, the ones so quick to judge RusHHouR on appearence, ever been judge by people who know nothing about you? and if so, How did it feel?

Remember, To be old and wise, One must first be young and stupid

Cheers,
Drunk Kev

But not up on their website yet.

I’ve been out to rush hour my self on a thursday night and didn’t think much of it, it was pretty boring

All in favour of checking every one of them. Very slowly and with great thoroughness. One by one. Eventually, they’ll get it.

yeah rush hour is over rated

… and if they didn’t qualify to be on the track, do you think they’d tuck in their tails and go home? No, they’d go off and continue to do “rush hour” and other such gatherings.

And thats why the government wont listen to us, There asking “why do we need a drayway if rush hour is going to continue to promote illegal behaviour?”. I have a vary nice car and im sick of young idiots like the ones that go to rush hour making people like me look bad.
rush hour has done more bad then good!!!

yeh grubz is right, there’s to many crap cars at rush hour. We need to prove to the government that we need a dragway and that only that can be done is open a driver education centre with a dragway included. The rush hour club is making things worse. If we had a dragway i bet most of the cars that go to rush hour wouldn’t even qualify to be on the track.

It would be great to have a drag-strip here so we could see some nice cars.

and i don’t like getting defected every time i go to Rush Hour.. To many people attract the cops which makes everyone look bad.

Think what you want style_maniac.. get a real car b4 u speak up. Rush Hour has been going for years now.. I was going to it when it first started but now its nothing special. There’s not many nice cars there anymore. And why are you saying im a snitch for?

All I’m saying is that most of the car’s that go to rush hour are shit boxes.. I want a drag-strip back too… but its not going to happen with these idiots driving around in shit boxes every Thursday night trying to do burnouts and stealing number plates off the back of police cars..

If you promote illegal burnouts then the government wont listen to us.. I grew up going to the old drag-strip and i miss it so why do these amateurs have to wreck it for the rest of us.

Seriously grubz your a snitch and have no idea about us!! we are like family and we dont condone drink driving or street racing we like to get together and have a good time away from everyone and still have people like you giving us a bad name.. If you came out a few times you must’ve liked it the first time or your either a informer so to speak get…. So go get a life and snitch on someone else

They call it Rush Hour… its where a bunch of 17 to 20 year olds take there mums car out for a spin. I’ve been out there my self a few times and never is there race cars or nice cars with big V8’s… it’s a kids club!!!

So I take it you were in Mummy’s Excel too then?? Why would there be race cars, when a race car by definition cannot be driven on the road??

Also I have been out there too and most the guys I met were over 25 years old. It is quite interesting what they have too say, unfortunately they are let down by a minority of dickheads who can’t drive and can’t read or write. Funnily enough those people also seem to have P plates on thier cars.

I’d just put them all on a multicar transporter and take them straight to the wreckers. I’d love to see them ‘laughing’ then 🙂

* on. Apparently I can’t spell either.

Isn’t some extreme environmentalist going to complain about how they all left their engines own burning fuel and polluting?

Sick ’em, Rex. They evidently think they have a “right” to drive like they do. Part of the generation with all those rights, but can’t spell responsibility. The idea of considering others has never occurred to them. And let’s save a special big Thank You to all the parents who raised people like this.

Was that a car alarm or a person honking in a very regular pattern?

Bit of a wank, I would have just pulled over and waited till there was no longer a queue. Would be interesting if everybody did that, would the police work their way down the road, or would they play the waiting game?

“From the looks of it, that would have been enough time to switch the drunk drivers to the sober ones. Maybe that’s why they didn’t catch so many people.”

It’s been done on cruises before.

“blockaid”- does that mean it was some sort of fundraising festival for hoons? When I were a lad, it was “blockade”.

Forty-four seconds of testosterone later I still don’t understand the “so-called” part ….

“Blockaid” was an awesome festival.

Isn’t unnecessary use of a warning device a fineable offense?

Im any case this video does no one justice – the police for having minimal assistance for that many cars – and the idiots waiting laughing and beeping their horns.

By the time they would have gotten to teh front of the queue – both cops and civvies would begetting tired and emotional – guess who would come out ontop though.

Sometimes its best to grin whilst eating sh1t – if you have nothing to fear – you have nothing to worry about.
