House fire at Chisholm

Firefighters are working to extinguish a fire in a house on Gibbons Street, Chisholm.

ACT Fire & Rescue were alerted following numerous Emergency Triple Zero (000) calls from 5.44am.

UPDATE – House has been extensively damaged. ACT Fire & Rescue has handed the scene to ACT Policing.

UPDATE – Fire has been knocked down and firefighters are working to extinguish hot spots. The Bronto Skylift Hydraulic Aerial Appliance is also being used to assist firefighters with an overview of the property and to extinguish hot spots.

UPDATE – Three fire pumpers are on scene with the Bronto Skylift Hydraulic Aerial Platform, the Breathing Apparatus Van and two Commanders. The three bedroom house is well alight and part of the roof has collapsed. ACT Fire & Rescue has conducted a primary search and found no-one inside the home. No neighbouring properties are damaged. The ACT Ambulance Service is also on scene supporting operations with no injuries reported.
